How did you manage to get together all this information to be able to verify emails received years ago? Maybe inspection of passive DNS database?

Passive DNS would be feasible but the selector concept makes it challenging for passive DNS providers to paint a complete picture. We mostly relied on our own archives (having been involved with DKIM for some time helped ) and supplemented that data set with online research.
